15. Marqués de Cáceres Crianza | Rioja, Spain £13.95
Made from Tempranillo (Spain’s classic grape) with some Graciano and Mazuelo. Medium bodied with flavours of red fruit and smoky, vanilla oak. From Rioja’s most successful bodega. The Forner family also proprietors of Grand Cru Bordeaux Chateau Camensac have produced a Rioja wine which very much emphasizes fruit rather than oak flavours. Meat roasts ad grills, cold meat salads, heavy/baked vegetarian dishes, meat pies.
16. Santa Rita Reserva Merlot | Maipo Valley, Chile £12.95
Full flavoured, opulent, rich red made from the famous St. Emilion grape variety. Aged in American oak this wine displays favours of plums, blackberries, vanilla and black pepper.
