Queen’s University of Belfast
One of the oldest universities in the UK, the world-renowned Queen's University of Belfast celebrated its 160th anniversary in 2005. Established in 1845 as one of the three "Queen's Colleges in Ireland," it became a Queen's University of Belfast in 1908. With over 23,000 students from every corner of the world, more than 1,000 academics and a successful athletics program, Queen's has expanded since those early days. The University also has teaching and research centers within several miles of the main campus, as well as a Marine Laboratory at Portaferry and a campus at Armagh City, 40 miles from Belfast.|
